The United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) just released a report noting that Israel has the highest rate of inequality among children in the world’s 41 most developed countries. Israel shockingly ranked at the bottom in childhood education as well, with a general lack of proficiency in reading, math and science literacy.
TikvaHope Youth Clubs do all they can to improve the plight of struggling and disadvantaged children and their parents. We provide tools to both students and parents to break out of the cycle of poverty and become independent and productive members of Israeli society.
This Passover, TikvaHope Youth Clubs throughout Israel provided a safe haven for at-risk children to have fun, feel loved and do good. Not only did we hold mock Passover seders with all of the trimmings, we also had children plant vegetable gardens and clean up public parks in an effort to build an appreciation for giving back to their communities. TikvaHope sponsored special trips including go-carting and participated in a soccer tournament.
